The submission deadline for resolutions to be presented at Alberta Canola's 32nd Annual General Meeting was January 11, 2022. 

RESOLUTION TO BE PRESENTED:

Whereas the federal government “set a national emission reduction target of 30 percent below 2020 levels from fertilizers and work with fertilizer manufacturers, farmers, provinces and territories, to develop an approach to meet it”; and

Whereas Nitrogen is essential for optimal crop growth and yield in profitable whole farm grain and livestock production in Canada; and

Whereas farmers are concerned this will jeopardize their profitability, sustainability and competitiveness; 

Be it resolved that Alberta Canola and like-minded commissions, demand to be included in transparent discussions with the Government of Canada on what net zero and emissions reduction initiatives entails.
