  • Alberta Canola will notify the selected recipient of the Walter Paszkowski Farm Leaders Award by January 15, 2027.

Selection of Recipient

  • Alberta Canola will verify applicants meet the qualifications. 
  • Alberta Canola reserves the right to allocate this opportunity only to those who farm canola in Alberta. 
  • Alberta Canola reserves the right to not present an award on an annual basis.

Course Fees and Award Payment

  • The recipient of the award will agree to pay 20% of the total fees, with Alberta Canola paying for the remaining 80%.
  • Once accepted, the selected recipient(s) will pay Alberta Canola for the 20% of the program fee, and then be given a registration code to access their courses.
  • Additional expenses including internet, computers, or additional one-on-one session outside of the origional offering will not be covered by Alberta Canola.
  • For the 2027 session intake and award recipients:

    Selected award recipients for the 2027 LeaderShift intake will receive 80% coverage of their program for enrollment in both LeaderShift Insider and LeaderShift Insight plus three additional coaching sessions. With this year's event registration also being supported by Farm Credit Canada, ticket prices are reduced, meaning the participants selected for this award will pay $345 (plus tax) and Alberta Canola will pay remaining costs of $1380 (plus tax) to cover all enrollment fees.

Eligibility

  • You must farm full- or part-time on a farm in Alberta that includes canola in their rotation.
  • The farm's eligible producer must not have requested a service charge refund from Alberta Canola in the previous two crop years.
  • Alberta Canola directors are not eligible to apply.
  • Alberta Canola staff are not eligible to apply.
