                                                    Devin Hartzler has been farming full time with his farther for 17 years. Devin was a regional representative with Alberta Wheat for several years and is now the second, vice-chair and director with Alberta Grains. Devin has gone through he Combine to Customer program in addition to other professional development endeavours.
Devin and his father operate Triple H Farms Ltd and are pedigreed seed growers (for 30 years) growing multiple varieties of CWRS and CPSR wheats, barley and yellow peas for seed, as well as canola for commercial production. For the last 12 – 14 years, Devin has year by year taken over management of Triple H Farms Ltd from his father. Devin and his wife Carrie have a combined five children who also live and help out on the farm.
In 2024, Devin completed the Executive Program for Agricultural Producers (TEPAP) led by Texas A & M in the Austin, Texas. The program centres around business management with a focus on managing farms like businesses and not ‘just a family farm’, his learnings from that program have been invaluable to their operations. Devin takes a keen interest in markets and the influences over pricing. An avid reader of Cargill Market Sense and an annual attendee of the two-day Think Tank marketing conference – Devin has increased his understanding of grain markets to become confident in decision making and marketing of their grain and seed products. In addition to full-time farm management, raising his family and involvement with Alberta Grains, Devin is also on the board of directors of his church.
