Karla Bergstrom has been Alberta Canola’s Executive Director since 2022, bringing more than two decades of agricultural leadership spanning government affairs, crop economics and production. She leads Alberta Canola’s research, advocacy and engagement efforts, working alongside farmer directors to advance the priorities of Alberta’s canola farmers.

Karla and her team represent more than 12,000 canola farmers across Alberta and collaborate with national organizations such as the Canola Council of Canada and the Canadian Canola Growers Association, as well as provincial partners including SaskOilseeds, Manitoba Canola Growers Association and Team Alberta Crops. Together, they work to ensure programs and services supported by farmers’ contributions deliver value to growers and strengthen Alberta’s canola industry.
