As an Associate Professor of Phytopathology at Université Laval, Edel investigates the clubroot pathogen, phytoplasmas, insect vectors and other pathogens and pests of interest for Canadian farmers. Edel has over 10 years of experience in plant pathology, molecular biology, and molecular microbiology, working with diverse crops and diseases in different countries.

Edel's mission is to unravel plant pathogens' mysteries and develop innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture and food security. He collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, students, and industry partners, and contribute to advancing knowledge and technology in his field. Edel is also passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of plant scientists.
