Autumn Barnes is an Agronomy Specialist with the Canola Council of Canada in Lethbridge, where she works to drive knowledge and innovation in canola growers, researchers and industry. As the CCC Stand Establishment lead, Autumn works with stakeholders to identify key messages and research priorities on that subject, and she created www.canolacalculator.ca to improve understanding and adoption of canola stand establishment targets. Autumn has taken leadership roles in planning major extension events like canolaPALOOZA, Combine College, Canola Discovery Forum, International Clubroot Workshop and canolaLAB, and she is always eager to figure out new ways to share and collect knowledge.
Autumn grew up in a small town on the west coast of British Columbia before moving to Alberta to pursue a career in agriculture. She studied at Olds College and worked on farms overseas before completing her BSc in Agriculture Studies from the University of Lethbridge in 2009. Autumn loves growing, cooking and talking about food, and adventuring with her husband and two small children.
