Murray joined Alberta Agriculture in 1993 as a regional crop specialist, and was the provincial oilseed specialist since 2001. Previous work experience includes managing an applied research association, and service with United Grain Growers. Formal education was B.Sc. (Agronomy) and M.Sc. (Soil Fertility). Murray retired from Alberta Agriculture & Forestry in 2019.
