Cletus Sehn - Farm Operations Manager

Cletus is the architect and manager of the cow herd and is responsible for the management of pasture and land used to grow feed for and sustain the cow herd. He also oversees general operations at the swine unit. Cletus has worked for AAFC for 28 years (23 of which have been at Lacombe).

Dr. Changxi (Chang) Li - Beef Genomics
Genomic prediction tools and their applications to improve beef production efficiency and quality
Dr. Changxi Li. Dr. Li and his research team are co-located at the University of Alberta, working closely with other animal scientists including researchers of Livestock Gentec on beef genomics. Major research activities of Dr. Li’s team include investigation on genetic controls of beef performance traits and development of genomic tools to improve beef production efficiency and quality.

Hailing from a mixed grain and beef farm in Saskatchewan, Dr. Fitzsimmons has always had a passion for beef cattle. She traveled around the world to get an education, and happily landed back in cattle country to conduct research that helps beef producers.
